Some significant improvements have been brought to the Toolkit this month.
A revised Benefits Tool has been uploaded. This includes a whole new chapter which explains the the concept of Benefits Management and provides worked examples for a fictitious project. The aim is to make it more accessible to those without a railway background.
The Early Stage Specification Tool has been replaced by a new page entitled the Rail Enhancements Hierarchy. The aim of this page remains to allow users to assess alternative ways to enhance rail services other than building new infrastructure, but this page provides much more information and detail than the tool it replaced. The animated videos which were previously on the Explore page have been moved here as they are a better fit for the content.
Finally, the content in the Early Stage Specification Process has been significantly overhauled making it more logical and easy to follow, with consistent use of terminology and reduced jargon.
